David Fennessy received Paul Hamlyn Foundation Award

The composer and fellow David Fennessy has been awarded the Paul Hamlyn Foundation Award 2010 for his extraordinary musical works. The prize is awarded anually since 1994 to visual artists and composers. Each of the prize winners receives a financial support of £ 45,000 to support them in their artistic development.

Transfer of 729 media from the Akademie archive
to the Central State Archive of Stuttgart


October 7, 2010

Yesterday, on October 6th, 2010, the Akademie Schloss Solitude handed its whole archive collection of VHS- and MC-tapes over to the Audiovisual Archive of the Central State Archive in Stuttgart. After a successful backup of the data on DVD's and the media server of the Akademie, a total of 548 VHS-tapes and 181 music tapes could be transferred to the Central State Archive Stuttgart.

of the 7th Berlin Biennale 2012

Artur Żmijewski has been appointed curator of the 7th Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art by the KW Institute for Contemporary Art in Berlin. Established in 1998, the Berlin Biennale has become a major international event for contemporary art.

Summer Academy 2011:
International Masterclass for young composers

Every two years since 2003, the public foundation and residency program Akademie Schloss Solitude (Stuttgart, Germany) hosts a summer master class for young composers. The fourth Summer Academy will take place from August 5-22, 2011. Sixteen composers at various stages in their work will be chosen to participate.
