| David Fennessy received Paul Hamlyn Foundation Award The composer and fellow David Fennessy has been awarded the Paul Hamlyn Foundation Award 2010 for his extraordinary musical works. The prize is awarded anually since 1994 to visual artists and composers. The aim is to give artists the freedom to develop their creative ideas and to contribute to their personal and professional growth. David Fennessy, born 1976 in Dublin/Ireland, lives and workes in Glasgow. He teaches composition at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and works as a freelance teacher and workshop leader. 1998 David Fennessy studied for his Master’s degree with James MacMillan at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow. His works have been performed, among others, by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Paragon Ensemble (Scotland) and the Irish National Chamber Choir. Back to the Newslist |
