| Karin Sander has been awarded the Hans-Thomas-prize The former fellow (1993/1994) and juror (1998/1999) Karin Sander has been awarded the Hans-Thomas-prize for visual arts of the Federal State of Baden Württemberg (25, 000 Euro). The prize will be awarded on August 14, 2011, in Bernau, the birthplace of the painter Hans Thomas. Karin Sander was born 1957 in Bensberg in Nordrhein-Westfalen. She studied at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Stuttgart. From 1999 to 2007, she taught at the Kunsthochschule Weißensee in Berlin.
