| Documentary STATION SOLITUDE on 3sat, February 20th, 2011 The documentary Station Solitude will have its television premiere on Sunday, February 20 at 11.30 am on the channel 3sat. For the 20th anniversary of the Akademie Marcel Wehn, the director, accompanied four fellows of the Akademie for more than one year. From their arrival at Solitude until their departure he observed and interviewed them to find out which impact the specific conditions and circumstances at Solitude – like the remote location and the exchange with other fellows – had on their lives and their artistic development: Martin Page, the French author, processes the tragic death of his father in his new novel. For the fellowship at Solitude, the American sculpturer Lan Tuazon gave up her lecturer position in New York and built a four metre high sculpture, which addresses the subject of class divides. Hamed, a theatre director from Iran, stages his German wife in a dramatic solo piece. And the German graphic designer Demian Bern sees the whole city of Stuttgart as a showroom for experimental art. The film is a cooperation of Akademie Schloss Solitude, the MFG Film Funding Baden-Württemberg, the Baden Württemberg Film Academy and SWR/3SAT. back to the Newslist |
