Born 1973 in Buffalo, NY/USA.

Rheim Alkadhi lives and works as a visual artist in Amman/Jordan. Although she was born in the USA, she lived in Bagdad/Iraq until 1980 when her family moved permanently to the USA.

She studied visual arts at the California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, CA/USA and earned her bachelor’s degree in 1994. In 1999 she earned her master’s degree at the University of California, Irvine, CA/USA. She designed Destroyed in Baghdad/Repaired in Cairo during her residency at Townhouse Gallery in Cairo/Egypt.

In 2010 her Exhibition for Adults and Children was shown at DoBaeBacSa (Chungseok super studio) in Seoul/South Korea. She engaged in a project for a research-oriented workshop in Dar al Ma’mun, Marrakech/Morocco in 2011. With Call for Participants and Their Shoes to Walk Across the Arab City she participated in the AND AND AND campaigns in front of dOCUMENTA (13) in Kassel/Germany. For her project Collective Knotting Together of Hairs she collected hair from hairbrushes in the West Bank and exhibited her project at the Al-Ma’mal Foundation in Jerusalem and Riwaq in Ramallah/Palestine. Her last projects were promoted by the Arab Fund for Art and Culture, Beirut/Lebanon and Art Matters, New York, NY/USA.
