Born 1980 in Karl-Marx-Stadt/Germany. 

From 2000 to 2009, Claudia Gehre studied art history and japanese studies at the Leipzig University in Germany and the University of Vienna in Austria. Her master's thesis deals with the changes of artistic practices during the Wende in Germany (collapse of the GDR) using the example of the artist Jörg Herold. During her studies Claudia Gehre completed several internships in galleries, museums and artist in residency programs. Among others she interned for the Museum für angewandte Kunst (MAK) in Vienna, in 2005, and at the Leipzig International Art Programme, in Leipzig, in 2007. In 2008 she started as a trainee at the art Galerie EIGEN+ART in Leipzig, where she continued to work until 2011.

In the years of 2011 and 2012, Claudia Gehre coordinated and organized the event OFFEN auf AEG at the former AEG space in Nürnberg/Germany as a freelancing art scientist. In both years she also curated the monographic exhibition of the local artists and the exhibition titled Second Chance - Cultural Exchange in the context of the EU project Second Chance - From Industrial Use to Creative Impulse.
In 2012 and 2013, she was in charge of the exhibition program and project coordination of the exhibtion space WERKSCHAU Halle 12 at the Leipziger Baumwollspinnerei.

In 2014, Claudia Gehre is a fellow for art coordination at the Akademie Schloss Solitude.
