Born 1994 in Bethesda, MD/USA.

Douglas Rogerson grew up in Knoxville, TN/USA before attending Washington University in St. Louis, MO/USA where he majored in physics and philosophy and minored in visual art.

His diverse studies culminated in 2016 with an undergraduate thesis titled An Artwork's Autonomy: Empirical Evidence Explained by an Interpretive Model. For this work he examined the roles of intention and interpretation in art by drawing parallels to quantum mechanics and his own practice. He simultaneously used a scientific perspective to explain the multiplicity of an artwork's meaning and a creative perspective to illustrate how the superposition of contradictory states of matter can be internalized through such visual works.

Douglas Rogerson currently resides in New York, NY/USA where he applies his skills to the development of aesthetic, ergonomic, and functional kitchen tools.
