Born 1970 in Southern Tyrol, Italy. Lives in Berlin. She studied comparative literature, philosophy, theater and Romance languages in Vienna and Berlin. Fellowships from the Literarisches Colloquium Berlin (1994) and the Akademie der Künste, Berlin (1996). Author of theater and radio plays, short stories, essays as well as translations. Dramaturge and currently guest docent for dramatic writing at the Hochschule der Künste, Berlin.

Works include: „Offene Türen“, „Gelbsucht“, "F.O.B. - Free on board", "Die Störung\'", "Von Kopf bis Fuß" and "Drei Monologe" . Books: "Das Herz eines Bastards", Athesia, 2000. „Die Liebenden“, LTT Tübingen, 2004. Margareth Obexer received the Slábbész prize – for both directing and text - of the international radio play department in Rust, Burgenland/Austria for her radio play „Die Liebenden“ (The Lovers, 1999).
