Born in Cleveland, Ohio/USA.

She studied communications (radio/TV/film) at the University of Akron, Ohio. She has a BFA in Technology and Integrated Media from the Cleveland Institute of Art and is currently an MFA candidate in Writing at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her drawings can be characterized as subtle forms that oscillate between abstraction and figuration. Since 2004 Rimpsey is a participating artist in the Viewing Program at the Drawing Center, New York City and is represented by Gallery Joe, Philadelphia.

Currently she is interested in the transformation of her drawings by animation and experimental short film. Recent projects include »syrinx« (2007), »Flank Fatigue: The Failure to Preserve or Maintain« (2005), »trunt colonies« (2004) and »crote forms« (2003).

She is the recipient of a Philadelphia Foundation Grant and a Vermont Studio Center Artist Grant and Residency.
