The Akademie Schloss Solitude is happy for former fellow Saša Asentić whose dance production DIS_SYLPHIDE, a dance piece on disability and dance history in Germany has been selected for TANZPLATTFORM DEUTSCHLAND 2020.
For her work »Bound to the Bow« (2016) Ashley Fure (fellow 2011, music/sound) will be awarded the 64th Kompositionspreis der Landeshauptstadt Stuttgart 2019. The prize is Germany’s oldest and most important prize for composers of new music and has been awarded annually since 1955.
The documentary »My Father Has a Gun« (2019) by Ana Mendes (fellow 2016) is nominated for the 30th Bamberg Short Film Festival.

Akademie Schloss Solitude is very happy for former fellow Kinga Tóth (fellow 2013/2016), who receives the Hugo-Ball-Förderpreis 2020. The prize is rewarded with 5.000 € and is awarded to persons, whose humanistic and/or creative achievements are in line with Hugo Ball’s work.

For the third time since 2016 the light artwork Terminal of former fellow Karolina Halatek will be on display on the Rathausplatz in Gerlingen. From 25.10. to 25.11.2019 the artwork invites passers-by to take a moment to step out of what is known and mundane into a new unexpected dimension of light. Entering the tunnel-like space of dazzling, bright white light the visitors find an opportunity to contemplate and focus on their own sense of self and to forget about their daily life for a moment.
The Akademie Schloss Solitude is pleased with Deniz Utlu (literature fellow 2018/2019). His second novel »Gegen Morgen« (Towards Morning), he worked on during his fellowship, was voted Book of the Week by SWR2!
We are happy for Aykan Safoğlu and Georges Senga who have been selected together with 53 other artists as participants of the 21st Contemporary Art Biennial Sesc_Videobrasil, titled »Imagined Communities«. Altogether, 2280 artists from 105 countries submitted their applications. From October 9, 2019 to February 2, 2020, the artistic works of our two former fellows at Solitude and of the other participants are on view in Sesc 24 de Maio in Sao Paulo/Brazil.
The Akademie Schloss Solitude is happy to announce the names of the 75 fellows who have been selected for the period 2020–2021. They have been chosen by an international jury which was chaired by a jury core group.
Akademie Schloss Solitude, Freie Tanz- und Theaterszene Stuttgart, Musik der Jahrhunderte, Produktionszentrum Tanz und Performance and Theater Rampe each set different focal points in the contemporary arts. What they have in common is transdisciplinary practice. In July 2020, they will for the first time organize a cooperatively curated "Festival of the Arts".
The jury consisting of 12 representatives from collaborating residencies and partner institutions revealed the list of final laureates entitled to participate in »Be Mobile – Create Together!« following their final meeting on 24-25th June 2019.
We’re very happy for Lithuanian theatre- and film director Rugilė Barzdžiukaitė, writer and poet Vaiva Grainytė and composer and performance artist Lina Lapelytė, who, on Saturday, 11th May 2019, received the Golden Lion for best pavilion at the 58th Biennale in Venice with their opera performance »Sun & Sea: Marina«.
