Elke aus dem Moore took up the position of director at Akademie Schloss Solitude in May this year. After completing her first five months in the post, she describes her vision for the Akademie and outlines future changes.
The approximately 1,000-square-meter experimental area of Bosch in Renningen serves the researchers as a place where they can develop new ideas - across disciplines and irrespective of the organizational structure of the company or the day-to-day work in the office and laboratory. The special thing about Platform 12, however, is the exchange of thoughts and ideas with artists. The aim of the three partners – Robert Bosch GmbH, Akademie Schloss Solitude and Wimmelforschung – is to establish a new form of innovation culture through the exchange of thoughts and ideas between the worlds of research and art.
The Akademie Schloss Solitude, Stuttgart, and the ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe, have jointly established the international Net Art award Hash for net-based projects in the fields of art, technology, and design. The first award ceremony will take place on February 15, 2018, within the framework of a public networking event with short talks and presentations at the ZKM | Karlsruhe.
In 2017, Akademie Schloss Solitude, Stuttgart and the Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe will announce three calls for web residencies with different topics that will be designed by invited curators.
On Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 7 p.m. Akademie Schloss Solitude opens the exhibitions by the fellows Kai Linke and Ivana Ivković wirh Dragana Bulut. In addition, the Akademie Schloss Solitude is also contributing to the anniversary of the exhibition series Retour de Paris by showing works from Rolf Schneider and Laura Bernhardt, both former fellows of the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris.
The »WimmelResearch-Fellowship« will be awarded as part of a joint project between Robert Bosch GmbH, Akademie Schloss Solitude and Wimmelforschung.
On Thursday, May 12, 2016, 7 p.m. Akademie Schloss Solitude opened the next series of exhibitions. Works by former fellows Johanna Diehl, Ariel Schlesinger and Stephanie Choi, as well as Japanese carpenter Masao Sato will be on show until June 24, 2016.
From March 11 to April 24, 2016 new works by R. Armstrong, Vladimir Miller and Louis-Philippe Scoufaras are on view at Akademie Schloss Solitude.
One part of R. Armstrong's installation can only be seen on Tuesday and Saturday from 2 to 4 pm while the artist is performing in the space.
