»snow« - music that accompanies us like snow.
Music born out of Solitude and inspired by the »Aesthetics of Silence«.
»The exemplary modern artist’s choice of silence is rarely carried to this point of final simplification, so that he becomes literally silent. More typically, he continues speaking, but in a manner that his audience can’t hear.« (Susan Sontag, »The Aesthetics of Silence«).
Electronic sounds that develop in a slow and yet vibrant manner function as a dynamic frame for active listening and a frame for silence as a spiritual mirror of the now and the self. Perhaps this CD could be titled »Silence« too. Somehow, »Snow« seems softer though, similar to the way sounds soften when it snows. Sprawling sound formations unfold, interrelations become apparent. The listener is invited to integrate the constant changes of the sound carpet into his or her own world of experience and to complete the composition.
