In the context of Lange Nacht der Museen, the project at Römerstraße takes up the two main themes for the fellows at Akademie Schloss Solitude this year: the intertwined notions of work and play (see also Chronicles of Work, June 2013) and The Practice of an Ephemeral Architecture (more to come in November 2013).
Since autumn 2011, the Akademie Schloss Solitude has been addressing the theme »Chronicles of Work«, centered around an extensive interdisciplinary discussion on changes in modern and contemporary work organization and their consequences for society. From January until June 2013, four internationally renowned scientists from the fields of economy, psychoanalysis, philosophy, and sociology will approach these issues in their lectures.
In conjunction with its permanent art, science & business program, the Akademie Schloss Solitude offers a special off-the-job-training called »Swop Your Work Place«. It is aimed at persons from different occupation groups who are interested to gather new perspectives and motivation concerning their own working structures as well as an insight in other working environments.
