Feats of Strength is a series of livestreamed Facebook performances occurring on the artist’s facebook page at unannounced times once a week for approximately 5 weeks.
Each video will depict the artist in a bright colored monochromatic outfit performing a “feat” in her studio for whatever duration she can manage to sustain. The ‘feats’ will not be particularly impressive, but the repetition will require the artist to endure the vague physical stress of childish behavior – rolling back and forth on the floor, spinning in a chair, performing a handstand against a wall – with each video shot from different angles in order to keep the artists’ feet in the foreground of the frame. The videos will be archived on the artist’s facebook page, website, and the Schlosspost site.
Living in ambiguity somewhere between play, showmanship, performance, and cry for help, the series explores what new social media technologies can lead us to share.
