\u00bbHolistic and Micropolitical Making of Social Empathy; an Approach on Post-Representational Curation<\/strong>\u00a0\u00ab<\/span><\/h3>\r\nExperimenting with micropolitical and holistic transdisciplinary advances, in which the cognitive reciprocally intertwines with the non-semiotic, Berit Fischer\u00a0reconsiders in her recent work what an \u00bbex-hibition\u00ab can be, how else ideas can be \u00bbex-hibited\u00ab or rather \u00bbin-habited\u00ab and made experienced beyond curatorial forms of display, representation and beyond the consumption of in particular the visual. How can the curatorial achieve a more self-determined aesthetic and discursive form of practice, that not only questions\u00a0the curator\u2019s role and the paradigm in which she ought to operate, but one that\u00a0actively engages and\u00a0dissolves an on-looking audience; a practice that strives to nurture agency and partaking protagonists.\r\n\r\nThrough the\u00a0Radical Empathy Lab \u2013an on-going social and research laboratory for relational, alternative and holistic knowledge production\u2013\u00a0Fischer proposes\u00a0what she calls \u00bbintra-\u00ab and \u00bbaffective transformative curation\u00ab,\u00a0that\u00a0embraces what Brazilian theorist Suely Rolnik defines as \u00bbthe knowing body\u00ab. A curation that emphasises\u00a0the sensual and experiential and that sharpens our senses for an \u00bbactive micropolitics\u00ab. In her curatorial approach she seeks creating \u00bbconscientization\u00ab (Paulo Freire), a critical consciousness towards exploring new forms of being together that momentarily allow to reflect, to re-feel and undo a reactionary an-aesthesia (Greek: an-aesth\u0113sis: without sensation).\u00a0The\u00a0Radical Empathy Lab\u00a0investigates the relation between micro and macro dimensions of agency. Berit Fischer<\/a>\u00a0is a curator, spatial practitioner, researcher, and writer who has worked internationally since 1999. She holds a PhD from the Winchester School of Art at University of Southampton\/UK. Her curatorial research interests lie on critical spatial practices, socially and holistically produced spaces, the specification of art as a producer of new knowledge, as a means to permeate the status quo, the creation of fields of action, and the development of spaces for critical engagement, affective encounter and relational learning. She has published articles in\u00a0Afterall<\/em>\u00a0(London\/Great Britain),\u00a0Onomatopee\u00a0<\/em>(Eindhoven\/Netherlands) and\u00a0be Magazin\u00a0<\/em>(Berlin\/Germany) amongst others, and both edited and contributed to the books\u00a0New Spaces for Negotiating Art (and) Histories in Africa<\/em>\u00a0(co-edited with Kerstin Pinther and Ugochukwu-Smooth C. Nzewi, 2015),\u00a0Hlysnan: The Notion and Politics of Listening<\/em>\u00a0(2014), and\u00a0Other Possible Worlds \u2013 Proposals on this Side of Utopia<\/em>\u00a0(2011). In addition, Berit Fischer is a Yoga practitioner since 1999 and received her Yoga teaching certification in 2013.
