All those who were unable to attend the Summer Festival will have the opportunity to see artistic works created by current and former fellows displayed at various locations in and around the Akademie until November 14, 2021.\r\n\r\nPolish artist Alicja Wysocka<\/strong> used her research on mineral springs in Stuttgart as inspiration for the poetic installation Lamentations. In her video projection, she reflects on Slavic water spirits, water symbolism and their meaning in various religions and rituals. \r\nHungarian photographer Barnab\u00e1s Neogr\u00e1dy-Kiss<\/strong> presents the visual photo diary SOLITUDE, a humorous reflection on loneliness and his own perceptions of being alone during his fellowship stay at the Akademie at the height of the pandemic. Also on display are current works by the two Namibian artists Vitjitua Ndjiharine<\/strong> and Hage Nasheotwalwa Mukwendje<\/strong>, who were guests in Stuttgart as part of the Namibia Initiative organized by the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg. Vitjitua Ndjiharine\u2019s multimedia collages depict situations inspired by different moments in her family history, as she interweaves different chronological strands of German-Namibian colonial history. Hage Mukwendje\u2019s work Sounds Of Origin<\/em>, a painting featuring old sound recordings, interrogates concepts of \u00bbmemory\u00ab whose veracity is uncertain or impossible to prove.\r\nIn addition to other individual installations, three group exhibitions are also on display. Mutations, mutaciones<\/em> thematically explores the use of alternative network infrastructures and a uniting of communities across the digital divide, while the exhibition You have a fullness you need to bring out questions and rethinks the way we consume text-based art.\r\n\r\nThe title of the exhibition emerged from a project by Solitude fellows which takes as its subject the International Socialist Congress held in Stuttgart in 1907. \u00bbI was, I am, I shall be\u00ab were the words once used by Rosa Luxemburg to call for political resistance and solidarity. Today, they are a reminder of her work as well as a thought-provoking impulse for our future.
