While geographical and geopolitical premises set the framework for the first seven Triennials, since 2001 \u2212 at a juncture when the globalisation of art came to the fore \u2212 those responsible have decided to pursue a conceptual orientation, meaning that emphasis was placed on aesthetic, art historical and sociological questions. The international profile of the exhibited artists remained the guiding principle however \u2212 so too the focusing on sculpture in smaller format, which was by no means understood dogmatically however. The curators engaged up until now were Heinz Fuchs, Manfred Schneckenburger, Christoph Brockhaus, L\u00f3r\u00e1nd Hegyi, Werner Meyer, Thomas Deecke, Jean-Christoph Ammann, Matthias Winzen and Ulrike Groos. They were followed by Yilmaz Dziewior and Angelika Nollert, Susanne Gaensheimer, and most recently by\u00a0Brigitte Franzen in 2019.\r\n\r\nThe upcoming 15th Triennale Fellbach Kleinplastik 2022 will be curated by Elke aus dem Moore.\r\n\r\nHer curatorial approach is based on the principles of encounter, exchange, and dialogue. The interconnection of global social questions with local experiences and a contemporary art practice are characteristic for her curatorial work.
