We are very excited that Manuel Ferrari\u2019s short film was selected as one of 40 films from 30 countries for the International Online Competition. We will keep our fingers crossed!\r\n\r\nManuel Ferrari is an award-winning, Argentinian filmmaker who was a fellow at Akademie Schloss Solitude in 2013\/14. Alongside his artistic work, he teaches at the Universidad del Cine and at the Universidad Nacional de La Plata\/Argentina. During his residency at Akademie Schloss Solitude, Manuel already started the writing process for his twenty-minute film <em>The Credentials<\/em>. The film focuses on the story of Juan, a simple man, and his long and mysterious journey from Argentina to Europe. In Germany, he meets Johannes, who seems to have a life not very different from Juan\u2019s, but in fact it is very different.\r\n\r\nAnother former Solitude fellow was involved in the making of <em>The Credentials<\/em>: the filmmaker Andreas Bolm whose films have been shown at the Cannes Film Festival and the Berlinale. In <em>The Credentials<\/em>, he was part of the sound production as well as appeared as an actor.\r\n\r\nThe works selected for the online competitions will be available between 1 and 4 May 2021 for 48 hours each. Prize-winning films will be available online on 9th and 10th of May as part of the presentation of the prize-winning films for an extra period of 24 hours. The number of viewers will be unlimited. The service will be accessible by acquiring a festival pass or by obtaining a festival accreditation.
