With this call for applications, we will offer artists from Germany, especially persons of African descent living in Germany, the opportunity to apply for a fellowship in Namibia.\r\n\r\nThe residencies are organized in the framework of a two-part workshop series curated by Namibian artist and historian Memory Biwa, which initiates a collective approach to the history of colonial relations between Namibia and Germany and develops new artistic narratives on this topic.\r\n\r\nArtists across the fields of visual arts<\/strong> <\/span>(also encompassing performance, sound, and socially-engaged art), literature\/journalism<\/strong> <\/span>(encompassing prose, poetry, as well as digital journalism), and digital practice<\/strong> <\/span>(encompassing digital art, computing, hacking, gaming) can apply for a four-month residency. The fellowship will provide the opportunity to engage artistically with the project\u2019s topics restitution\/reparation, cultures of remembrance, and digital colonialism<\/span>. - A monthly fellowship grant of \u20ac 1,200,<\/li>\r\n \t
- Travel expenses for arrival and departure (on a one-time basis),<\/li>\r\n \t
- Project funding and one-off materials subsidy,<\/li>\r\n \t
- Health insurance.\r\n\r\n<\/strong><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\nApplication and selection procedure<\/span>\r\n<\/strong>\r\n\r\nThe application material is submitted online and should include:\r\n
\r\n \t- A project outline that deals with the topics of restitution\/reparation, cultures of remembrance, or digital colonialism in an artistic way (max. 1 Din A4 page),<\/li>\r\n \t
