We are happy about the collaboration between Mert Moral\u0131 (fellow 2025\/2026) and the Stuttgart State Opera, which developed during his fellowship at the Akademie Schloss Solitude.<\/p>\r\n
Mert Moral\u0131 is part of the event The Long Night of Music from Home<\/i> with the premiere of his new work Immobilities<\/i>.<\/p>\r\n
Music is movement\u2014a sound is created through motion, travels through space, encounters another, and stirs something within: joy or sorrow, longing or melancholy, happiness or unease. Music moves us as human beings. In his work Immobilities<\/em>, Moral\u0131 takes this idea one step further by allowing the movements of the audience to flow directly into his music.<\/p>\r\n In Immobilities<\/em>, the musicians respond spontaneously to their surroundings, the audience, and its movements, transforming these impressions into sound. At the same time, they are spatially constrained by their instruments and the technical setup. This creates a tension between external movement and their own immobility. Moral\u0131 thus portrays people who perceive many impulses in a dynamic, fast-paced world, yet are unable to join in its movement.
