Even though the frame stays the same, the Sommerfest is different every year, not only because of possible extreme weather conditions but especially because the program depends on the fellows who live and work at Solitude during that time. This year's Sommerfest includes exhibitions, video installations, performances, readings and open studios with fellows from Germany, France, Hong Kong, Canada, Palestine, Romania, Tschad, Hungary and the USA.
In conjunction with Leipzig liest a reading with the New Zealand poet Alice Miller will take place at 5 pm at Halle 14 on March 25, 2017.
In her debut Halb Taube halb Pfau (half pigeon half peacock) Maren Kames developes a proper language and sound scenery with an incredible knock-on effect. She is the first fellow in cooperation with Literaturhaus Stuttgart. Reading and exhibition are the result of her three-month stay at Akademie Schloss Solitude.
Márió Z. Nemes presents his book Puschkins Brüste, which was published in 2016 by Edition Solitude. Orsolya Kalász will read the German translation.

On Thursday, July 9, 2015, at 8 p.m. Dominic Otiang'a will read from his novel Der Deutsche Traum, which was published by Edition Solitude in early 2015.
