The temporary exhibition delivers insight with interventions, installations, discussions and screenings to the current work in progresses of the fellows of Akademie Schloss Solitude.
Until Sunday, July 27, the Akademie shows the exhibitions of Bernd Behr, Katarina Burin and Thiago Granato themed Unlike Scenes.
On Thursday, April 10, 2014, the Akademie opens the first solo exhibitions in 2014. On view are videos and installations of Danielle Adair, Shirin Sabahi and Laura Straßer.
During the opening night, the Hungarian author and literary theorist Kinga Tóth will present a group performance with music and exhibition based on her poetry book ZSÚR from 2013.
For the first time Akademie Schloss Solitude will open its doors for the Long Night of the Museums presenting selected artworks of former fellows from the collection. At the same time, Solitude fellows arrange and reutilize the project space of the Akademie in the city center of Stuttgart exclusively for the Long Night.
On November 21, 2013, 8 pm, the Akademie opens the group exhibition »Architecture & ...« with contributions of fourteen current and former fellows
Andreas Quednau, professor for architecture at the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design, will open the exhibition with a short introduction. Subsequently, Evan Gardner’s new version of his composition Variations on a Theme by John Cage for piano and electronics will receive its premiere.
Akademie Schloss Solitude and Kunststiftung Baden-Württemberg invite to the 15th edition of »Römer«, a joint exhibition evening in the project room Römerstraße.
The exhibitions of Jenny Brosinski, Nicolás Fernández and Ndikhumbule Ngqinambi are on view until Sunday, October 27, 2013.
On Saturday, August 31, at 6:30 pm, Christian Schwaan presents his performance »Box« at Württembergischer Kunstverein and on Monday, September 2, a graphical performance by the artists Jenny Brosinski and Maximilian Bauer will be presented during the day, also at WKV.
The group exhibition »Schwarz Weiss Laut« opens on Saturday, September 7 at 8 pm at the project space Römerstraße 2. Works by Maximilian Bauer, Jenny Brosinski, Tobias König, Elisabeth Roth, Christian Schwaan and Alexander Svoboda are on view until Saturday, September 21, 2013.
In conjunction with the event series »Chronicles of Work III: What’s Work Worth?« the contributions for the exhibition »What’s Work Worth« focus on the process of art production as well as on its methods and strategies. The different ways of how fellows perceive their own work, will be presented in performances, sound installations, videos and paintings. On view are contributions, commodities and materials which identify possible ways of artistic practice and deal with the manifold forms of artistic expression.
The exhibitions of ozz, Sybille Neumeyer & Youki Hirakawa and Kontekst collective (Marko Miletic & Vida Knezevic) are on view until Sunday, June 2, 2013.
In the context of Lange Nacht der Museen, the project at Römerstraße takes up the two main themes for the fellows at Akademie Schloss Solitude this year: the intertwined notions of work and play (see also Chronicles of Work, June 2013) and The Practice of an Ephemeral Architecture (more to come in November 2013).
