Performance & Artist Talk

Former fellow Agnieszka Mastalerz will be showing her work »Mould« at the »39. Stuttgarter Filmwinter – Festival for Expanded Media«.

On Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 8:30 PM Mastalerz performance can be seen in FITZ! & tri-bühne in hall 3, Eberhardstraße 61, 70173 Stuttgart.

The inspiration for this film is the Polish dancer and sculptor Danuta Kwapiszewska, who turned to sculpture after she was no longer able to dance. The film features two performers: Adrianna Mrowiec, the first student with a disability at the Department of Dance Theatre at the Academy of Theatre Arts in Bytom, Poland, and Agnieszka Janosz, a person with a hearing impairment. Mastalerz poses the question of whether today’s more inclusive contemporary contexts would allow Kwapiszewska to continue dancing despite changes in her motor abilities.

Agnieszka Mastalerz was a fellow of the Solitude Exchange Network in cooperation with the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art, Poland. Supported by  the Adam Mickiewicz Institute (IAM), Poland and the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts of the State of Baden-Württemberg.
