On March 24, the silent green Kulturquartier Berlin will transform into a resonance space for the written word. In collaboration with the Akademie Schloss Solitude, World Poetry Day will be celebrated with six international poets who transcend the boundaries between languages and genres. Among them is Solitude-Fellow Jeannette Hunziker.
An evening full of poetic expression: from Jeannette Hunziker’s precise poetry to the Czech poetry icon Petr Hruška, and the powerful multilingual work of Tania Skarynkina. Whether award-winning prose debuts or profound poetry collections, this selection showcases the full range of contemporary poetry. Also participating are Julia Cimafiejeva, Nikola Huppertz, and Matthias Nawrat, all of whom are shaping the current literary landscape with their unique perspectives.
Jeannette Hunziker is a fellow at the Akademie Schloss Solitude. She writes poetry and prose and was a finalist at the Open Mike in 2008. Her prose debut Für immer alles was published in 2024 (Lenos Verlag).
The UNESCO World Poetry Day honors the importance of poetry, the diversity of language as cultural heritage, and the significance of oral traditions. Since its inception in 2000, the House of Poetry, in collaboration with its partner institutions, has organized the central event in Germany.
