The reading and discussion with Vera Hegedüs were canceled due to illness.
The Péter Horváth Fellowship for young Hungarian authors was founded in 2013 by Prof. Péter Horváth, who passed away last year. Among other things, award-winning authors are given the opportunity to spend a month at the Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart and at the Literarisches Colloquium in Berlin.
This year’s fellowship awardee Vera Hegedüs will read from her debut novel ostoba (stupid) as part of a literary evening organized by the Liszt Institute, Hungarian Cultural Center Stuttgart in cooperation with Akademie Schloss Solitude. Cecilia Winter and Dr. Ágnes Sebestvén, representatives of the Stuttgart Literary Salon, an initiative for contemporary Hungarian literature, will speak with the author. Irmgard Nille, companion of Prof. Péter Horváth, will also be present on the evening of the reading and discussion.
Interpretation will be provided by Tudit Trombitás.

Vera Hegedüs received the Péter Horváth Literary Fellowship in 2022, which was linked to a stay at the Akademie Schloss Solitude in May 2023. Her debut novel ostoba, was published in 2021, and, in 2022, won the prize of Budapest’s Writers’ Bookstore.
