Hiba Ali. Spiral Networks of Rememberance and
The exhibition series »Solitude as guest at Salon der Kulturen« at the Kunstverein Pforzheim enters its second edition. For the upcoming iteration, current fellow Hiba Ali has been invited to present their latest artistic works alongside insights into their ongoing research project Spiral Networks of Remembrance and Elation.
The solo exhibition explores the Indian Ocean as a site of memory, heritage, and
emotional and historical spaces of resonance, which Hiba Ali weaves together in their
works through world building, digital practice and somatics. Their artistic practice moves
between moving images, installation, and performative elements, creating immersive
environments in which personal and collective narratives come together.
A special highlight will be the activation of the exhibition on March 14. In a lecture
performance, Hiba Ali will perform as volcanic matter and ash that traverses the Indian
Ocean and through enacting world building and storytelling invites us to take a deep dive
along its currents with sonic reverberations, chants and drumming.
The exhibition is curated by Matilde Outeiro, 2025/2026 curatorial fellow at Akademie Schloss Solitude.
