PALs

PALs is a research collective formed by Faye Harvey, Fine Bieler and Veronika Varga. Their practice employs critical investigative methods to examine the instability of systems—institutions, laws, infrastructures—that present themselves as transhistorical and therefore natural. PALs is invested in exposing the political fabrications that underpin the financialization of living environments. Their work often draws on video, animation, sound, theory and fiction. The group emerged from the Centre for Research Architecture at Goldsmiths, University of London.

Veronika Varga is a researcher with a background in architecture. Her work is situated at the intersection of justice, rivers and Eastern futurism, with current projects focusing on post-Soviet infrastructural landscapes and wet ecologies.

Faye Harvey works primarily with video, sound and text. Her research interests include housing and rent struggles, histories of social welfare and family structures, resistance to rising labor productivity—especially in logistics—and the role of hope and utopia in political organization.

Fine Bieler is a visual artist and researcher. Her work addresses colonial continuities within contemporary systems such as borders, supply chains and land ownership, and engages with utopian and abolitionist practices, particularly in the context of education.
