Kiana Rezvani is an artist, choreographer, and researcher based in Berlin. Born in western Iran in 1992, she develops choreographic and performative formats that combine dance, text, video, and voice. Her works are presented in theaters, galleries, independent curatorial spaces, and artist-run, community-based projects.
She studied Dance, Context, Choreography at the Inter-University Centre for Dance (HZT) at the Berlin University of the Arts. Her ongoing research engages with forgotten, untold, hidden, and suppressed histories and narratives. By weaving together personal and collective memories, Rezvani creates works that uncover parallels and intersections, opening up new relational and imaginative spaces. Her practice critically examines colonial and imperial legacies while cultivating a space for poetic resilience.
Her solo and collaborative works have been presented at venues including Sophiensaele, Uferstudios, Dock 11, Schwankhalle, and Theater im Depot. Recent works include cyber ghosts (2022) and cycle of ruins (2023), both premiered in Berlin.
Rezvani is also co-founder of the cobracobra collective, which focuses on personal archival materials from the geographies of Iran and Bolivia. Collaborative works with cobracobra include Earth Beings (2021) and DRYCRY (2022).
