Seda Tunç studied English Literature and American Literature (BA, MA) in Istanbul, and English Literature (MA) and Philosophy (BA) in Vienna. Her debut poetry collection »WELCH« (edition mosaik) was published in 2021, and her poems have been translated into Serbian, Norwegian and Turkish. She is currently working on both prose and poetry projects and translating a novel. Texts by Rosemarie Waldrop, Aglaja Vetetanyi, Anne Carson and Arild Vange are among some of the texts she has translated. In addition, she conceptualizes and holds creative writing seminars for people, especially those who have experienced displacement, migration and flight.

Tunç’s writing intertwines philosophical, lyrical and political thinking with surreal imagery in a cross-genre approach, exploring new possibilities of form. In her most recent writings, she deals with national border politics, structural violence and displacement.

She has received scholarships from the Literary Colloquium Berlin, the German Translators’ Fund, the Academy for Poetry Criticism of the House of Poetry, the Stadtwien Project Scholarship and several working scholarships from the Austrian Ministry of Art and Culture. grants from BMKÖS Vienna.
