Born in Oshilemba/Namibia in 1991.

Tweyapewa Mbendeka is a visual artist whose work is rooted in storytelling, cultural memory, and material exploration. He is currently living in Windhoek/Namibia. Growing up in a rural village near the Onghulumbashe heritage site in northern Namibia, he discovered his passion for creativity at an early age. Despite physical challenges, he expressed his imagination through wire sculpture and clay modeling, laying the foundation for his artistic practice.

Tweyapewa began his formal art education at the College of the Arts (COTA) in Windhoek, where he obtained a Diploma in Visual Art and Craft (2018). Encouraged by his mentor and renowned artist Actofel Ilovu, he continued to develop his practice and deepen his conceptual approach to art making. In 2024, he further completed an Honours Degree in visual arts at the University of Namibia.

Since 2015, Tweyapewa has participated in numerous exhibitions, workshops, and collaborative projects across Namibia. Working across ceramics, sculpture, and mixed media, he reimagines ancestral narratives while fostering cross-cultural dialogue, education, and empowerment through art.
