In this video, sound artist Peter Okotor reflects on his journey into sound art and the experiences that have shaped his practice. He explores the largely underdeveloped acoustic spheres that surrounds us, drawing attention to the often-overlooked sonic environments we encounter in our everyday lives. Here, Okotor gives insights into his approach working with sound, and sharing how listening can become a way of noticing, questioning, and engaging with the world around us.

Peter Okotor is an artist and curator whose artistic practice focuses on hearing and listening. He employs archival sound as a mnemonic device to highlight past events and their contribution to historical memory. Okotor uses field recordings to investigate social and global events, making statements about collective memories and histories, while reflecting on how auditory experiences shape our understanding of the world and provide a framework for debates.

Patrick Urbani is an artist and curator whose practice explores the potential of art to foster new ways of seeing, relating, and being in the world. Working across exhibitions, moving image, and collaborative formats, he is particularly interested in the intersections of contemporary art, ecology, and social engagement. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Merz Akademie in Stuttgart, where he specialized in experimental cinema.
