Stuttgart for Small Wallets

Making of by Katerina Duda & Marte Kräher — Mrz 29, 2016

Artist Katerina Duda from Zagreb/Croatia and art coordinator Marte Kräher from Berlin/Germany designed a map for newcomers to Stuttgart for small wallets. The map provides information about Stuttgart »for almost every situation in daily life – from food to clothes to culture to communication,« as they explain. As fellows of Akademie Schloss Solitude, they started exchanging experiences and ideas with other fellows, newcomers, and locals of Stuttgart in October 2015. They wandered through the city and collected all useful information for the map, which is available in print and digital form. It can be visited soon under www.citiesforsmallwallets.net or can be downloaded now here in English and German. The guide can be developed, copied, and shared by everyone.
In a playfully drawn making-of, they explain the production process from first thoughts to finally distributing the map around Stuttgart at the beginning of this year.
