Performance Series: Shedding by Ivan Civic

The performance series kicks off with Shedding Time by Ivan Civic. The artist puts himself into an installation in which real time plays a subordinate role. Between two stones with a hammer in one hand, the plot, running in a loop, aims at a steady ticking. Like a human clock that attempts to newly invent the rhythm of time, it constantly fails, because the performance itself has a limited running time.

Ivan Civic (*1979 in Sarajevo/Bosnia and Herzegovina) studied experimental video, film and performance at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste (HBK) in Braunschweig/Germany among others with Marina Abramovic (MA 2005/2006). Ivan Civic lives and works in Berlin.
