Krisztina Tóth and translator György Buda are nominated for the Internationaler Literaturpreis 2015

Former fellow Krisztina Tóth and her translator György Buda are nominated for the Internationaler Literaturpreis 2015. The winning author-translator team will be selected out of the six nominees on June 29, 2015.

Questioning the literary transactions between authors and translators that characterize contemporary storytelling, the Internationaler Literaturpreis opens the German literary canon to literatures that expand fictional, linguistic and social horizons beyond national realms of experience. Amongst the six author-translator teams, former fellow Krisztina Tóth has been shortlisted together with her translator for her book Aquarium / Akvárium, published in 2015 by Nischen Verlag and 2013 by Magvetö Kiadó.

On June 29, 2015, the jury members Leila Chamaa, Michael Krüger, Marko Martin, Sabine Peschel, Jörg Plath, Iris Radisch and Sabine Scholl will select the winning team. The authors, translators and their works will be presented on July 8, 2015, 6 p.m. in the course of the Festival of Literatures at Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin. Besides the presentation of the works, current topics of contemporary literary storytelling and translating in transnational and international spheres will be discussed.
