Aleksandar Bede studied architecture and urban planning/urbanism at the University of Novi Sad, Serbia. He is currently a PhD candidate in urbanism at the Università Iuav di Venezia, Italy. His research concerns the projects of urban and territorial modernization from the age of Yugoslav socialism in the case of the region of Vojvodina and the state of these projects today in the condition of local, regional and global peripheriality. He collaborates with cultural, theoretical and political collectives such as New media center_kuda.org and Grupa za konceptualnu politiku. Together with Dafne Berc he has published the book Latency in the City: Voids in Novi Sad (2012).

In conjunction with the Eastern European Network Aleksandar Bede participates in the exchange program of Akademie Schloss Solitude with the New media center_kuda.org in Novi Sad/Serbia.
