Transdisciplinarity
The global challenges of our time cannot be addressed within a single discipline or social sphere. In this context, art acts as a seismograph: it detects social and technological developments at an early stage and critically engages with them. In doing so, it can enrich scientific and technological discourses and open up spaces for thought that remain inaccessible from within purely disciplinary boundaries. As a transdisciplinary platform, SCOPE operates precisely at the intersection of artistic practice, scientific research, and digital technologies. It brings together perspectives that would otherwise rarely encounter one another and examines how digital structures and scientific practices shape our understanding of society, art, and knowledge.
Experimentality
SCOPE is a space for experimentation and open-ended inquiry. The platform makes the international community of Akademie Schloss Solitude and its learning and working processes visible, while inviting others to engage with them. It fosters possibilities for unconventional collaborations, new social questions, and experiments whose outcomes remain open-ended.
Collaboration
Collaboration lies at the heart of SCOPE and unfolds on two interconnected levels – through its work with fellows and through partnerships with local and international organizations. The platform creates opportunities for fellows of Akademie Schloss Solitude to connect with universities, research institutions, and cultural organizations. In doing so, it facilitates new forms of knowledge transfer across art, science, and digital technologies. The perspectives and insights emerging from these encounters of this exchange are made visible through events and digital formats such as the Solitude Journal.
