Born 1966 in Warsaw (Poland).

1990-1995 studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, graduated at Professor Grzegorz Kowalski’s studio. 1999 studies at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy of Fine Arts in Amsterdam.

His video clip “An Eye for an Eye” won a prize during the exhibition of Guarene Arte 2000.

Artur Zmijewski will collaborate with other Polish artists on the exhibition project “A Need of Realism. Solitude in Ujazdowski”, a presentation of Solitude artists in Warsaw between October and December 2002. The exhibition is a cooperation of the Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle (Warsaw) and the Akademie Schloss Solitude.
