Born 1976 in Hamburg/Germany.

Bernd Behr is a German-Taiwanese artist based in London/Great Britain where he is Lecturer in Photography at Camberwell College of Arts, University of the Arts London since 2011. He received his BA in Fine Art from Goldsmiths, University of London, in 2002.

He is associate editor of the journal Philosophy of Photography and organised the interdisciplinary symposium Shadow without Object at Chelsea College of Arts, London, in 2015.

Bernd Behr has exhibited internationally, including at Para Site, Hong Kong, Kadist Foundation, San Francisco, Württembergischer Kunstverein Stuttgart, and in London at Chisenhale Gallery, Bloomberg Space, and the ICA. He represented Taiwan at the 55th Venice Biennale, 2013.

He was awarded an Arts Council England deciBel Award and Film London Artists’ Film & Video Award, with previous residencies including Taipei Artists’ Village, Taipei/Taiwan, and Center for Land Use Interpretation, Wendover, UT/USA.

From July 26, 2017 to October 31, 2017, Bernd Behr is a fellow in the framework of the »WimmelResearch-Fellowship«, a joint project between Robert Bosch GmbH, Akademie Schloss Solitude, and Wimmelforschung.
