Cheryl Isheja, also known as Binghi, is a Rwandan singer/songwriter, actress, spoken word artist, music producer and DJ active since 2017. She also experiments with audio visual installation and shows her work at exhibitions.

Isheja embarked on her artistic career in 2011 as a Neo soul singer, and has performed in live shows in different locations in Kigali and collaborated with different bands and musicians based in the city, as well as touring artists and performers.

A self-taught music producer since 2018, she is passionate about experimental music/electronic/deepTechno and Spiritual drum patterns, and is also a DJ.

She is currently experimenting with visual art, and has created three audio visual projects, one of which she showed at her very first solo art exhibition in the context of Novembre numérique (Institut Français Kigali, 2020).

In 2021, the movie Neptune frost, in which she plays the leading role, debuted at the Cannes Film Festival in France, and was shown at different film festivals including the Toronto International Film Festival, the New York Film Festival and the Sundance and Miami Film Festivals in 2022, to name a few. Isheja subsequently won the Agnès prize at the Festival International du Film Francophone de Namur (Fiff Namur) for Neptune frost.

She performed at the Dakar Biennale on May 23, 2022.

She continues to produce music and audio visual projects and is a member of the group »disco titties«. She is currently working on the fragma project, an audio visual experience.
