Elisabeth Rafstedt lives and works in Amsterdam/The Netherlands, where she co-runs the Rietlanden Women’s Office – an independent graphic design collective interested in research, education, and publishing from a feminist perspective – with Johanna Ehde. She is currently collaborating with Rietlanden on the third edition of the manifesto and publication project MsHeresies (MsHeresies #1, 2018, MsHeresies #2, 2019). Thanks to her collaborations and reading, her design works often take the form of (applied) research, dismantling the distinction between theory and practice.

She graduated from the Institute for Graphic Design at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam (2017) after completing a degree at Konstfack in Stockholm/Sweden. In 2018, she was awarded the book prize Best Dutch Book Designs for her design for the novel Vergeet de meisjes by Alma Mathijsen. Her thesis on collective graphic design practices in feminist publishing was nominated for Rietveld Selected 2017.
