Fabian Goppelsröder studied philosophy and history at the Freie Universität Berlin and at the Sorbonne in Paris (MA 2004). Currently, he is a PhD student of comparative literary studies at Stanford University in California. Besides his doctoral thesis on the literary gesture, Goppelsröder works on a jazz theory of communication.

Goppelsröder is the author of Zwischen Sagen und Zeigen. Wittgensteins Weg von der literarischen zur dichtenden Philosophie [Between telling and showing. Wittgenstein’s way from the literary to the poetic philosophy], transcript publishing house Bielefeld 2007, and the editor of Wittgensteinkunst. Annäherung an eine Philosophie und ihr Unsagbares [Wittgenstein art. Approaching a philosophy and its unspeakable], diphanes publishing house Berlin 2006. He is also co-editor of the Internet platform ATOPIA (www.atopia.tk).

For a Franco-German project on the gesture, Goppelsröder received support from the Thyssen Stiftung in 2004/2005. He was a member of the Studienkolleg zu Berlin in 2002/2003. In 2010/2011 he received a stipend from the Mellon Foundation for his dissertation.
