Hans Ulrich Obrist was born in May 1968 in Zurich, Switzerland, and currently lives and works in Paris. He has curated numerous exhibitions since 1991, including Hôtel Carlton Palace (Paris, 1993), Do it (travelling exhibition with over 30 stations worldwide) and Cities on the Move (with Hou Hanrou, Secession Vienna and CAPC Bordeaux, 1997, and Hayward Gallery, London, 1999) as well as published numerous exhibition catalogs and art books. Since 1993 he has run the program Migrateurs at the Musée dArt Moderne de la Ville de Paris where he now serves as a curator for contemporary art. He has been a curator for the museum in progress, Vienna. Obrist was the founder of the migratory Museum Robert Walser (1993) Since 1997 he is editor in chief of Point d’Ironie, and »art newspaper« published by agnes b. For 2002/2003 he is preparing a seminar, book and exhibition on the theme of Utopia, co-edited and co-curated with Molly Nesbit and Stefano Boeri.

Federico Nicolao, born 1970 in Italy, is a writer based in Paris. He is the author of numerous studies on aesthetics and literature in addition to being founding member and co-director of the CMN (Collegio delle Montagne Nere). He translated numerous works by French philosophers and theorists, among others, Edmond Jabès, Michel Leiris, Jean-Luc Nancy and Jean-Marie Pontevia into Italian. Nicolao is currently working on various exhibition, translation and book projects, i.e. a book on Roger Laporte; an exhibition and three volume publication (Etudes) on the literary and artistic motif of the »femme paysage« together with painter Raphaël Thierry ; a translation into French of Giorgio Caproni’s »L’aspect innocent du camp d’Auschwitz« together with Philippe Lacoue-Labarthe and on the photography exhibition »Claude Dityvon ou la solitude du moderne« together with Giovanna Calvenzi, William Klein, Manoël de Oliveira and Catherine Deneuve.
