Studied painting at the Academy of Arts (Hochschule der Künste) in Berlin with professor Orlowski and in Stuttgart with professor Baumeister. Studied also textile design at the “Meisterschule” Berlin.

In 1964 she founded the company Modus in Berlin. From 1968-70 she was a member of the provisory working counsel for the development of the IDZ (International Design Center) Berlin.

Editorial member of the German Werkbund magazine “Werk und Zeit”.

1979-84 member of the executive board of the Bauhaus Archives – Museum for Design in Berlin. 1980 co-author and editor of the exhibition and the book “Design Dieter Rams” at IDZ Berlin. 1985 managing director of Bauhaus Archives GmbH in Berlin.

Since 1998 executive board member of the IDZ Berlin. 1993-96 artistic advisory board member of the Royal Porcelain Manufactory in Berlin. 1997 chairwoman of the board of the Creative Interior Decoration Society.
