Jakob Weiss lives in Berlin/Germany. He initially worked as assistant stage designer at Staatstheater Stuttgart, Germany, Schaubühne in Berlin and Berliner Ensemble. From 2006 onwards, he presented his own works as a stage designer. Subsequently, he worked as assistant director at Schauspiel Stuttgart, Germany and Schauspiel Hannover, Germany. From 2010 onwards, he presented his first works as a director: Juli at Theater im Kino Berlin, Die Geschichte meiner Einschätzung am Anfang des dritten Jahrtausends and Delhi, ein Tanz at Schauspiel Hannover. In 2012 musical works like Zusammenstoss – Voraussichtlich groteske Oper für den Weltuntergang at Ballhaus Ost, Berlin;  HAPPY FAMILY at Schauspiel Hannover; PHAEDRA : POISON at Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln, Germany as well as SUPERPOLIS ZERO: Preparation at Ballhaus Ost, followed. In 2014 he also realized 8 out of 24 hours of the documentary theatre project 100 Dokumente at Staatstheater Karlsruhe, Germany. From 2015 onwards, successful children and youth theatre stagings such as Die Kurzhosengang and Kikerikiste at Württembergische Landesbühne Esslingen, Germany, as well as Tigermilch at Deutsches Theater Göttingen, Germany, followed. In 2016 he developed and staged the multi-part performance series intervisions at Ballhaus Ost. Furthermore, he will be working at Staatstheater Karlsruhe, Deutsches Theater Göttingen and Württembergische Landesbühne Esslingen.

His works are characterized by stylistically aesthetic coherence, humoristic sensitivity and dramaturgical accurancy. He was invited to festivals such as 100 Grad Berlin, Kaltstart Hamburg and Bürgerbühnenfestival Mannheim.
