Born 1981 in Brussels/Belgium.

Jérôme Toussaint graduated in law (2007) and performance studies (2012) from Université libre de Bruxelles, Belgium.

From 2007 to 2010 he worked as a lawyer with deeply indebted people for the city of Brussels and from 2011 to 2013 with artists and creative people for SMart, an artists’ association, which is growing around Europe and helps its members manage their own creative projects. 2013 he organized a colloquium on the career transition of the dancers in Brussels and did a few comparative studies on the artist’s legal status. He was intern at Troubleyn/Jan Fabre, Antwerp/Belgium during the Prometheus landscape II rehearsals in 2010. He also organized political lectures at the University and philosophical workshops focusing on performance and theater at Halles de Schaerbeek, Belgium in 2012. Jérôme Toussaint moved to Hamburg/Germany in 2013 and studied one year German Law, during which he wrote a study on the notion of the employee in the creative sector in German labour law.
