Born 1974 in Frankfurt/Main.

Studied new German literature, art history and philosophy at the Albert-Ludwigs University in Freiburg, at the Goldsmiths College in London and at the Humboldt University in Berlin. She completed her master’s degree in 2000 on “Literarische Formen des Darwisnismusdebatte” (Literary Forms of the Darwinism Debate).

Since 2000, she has written regularly for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.

In 2002, research fellowship at the philosophy department of the University of Texas. Graduate fellowship at the Max- Planck-Institute for the History of Science from 2001 to 2004 to work on her Ph.D. dissertation “Darwin’s Images”.

2004/2005 teaching position at the Helmholtz Center for Cultural Sciences at the Humboldt University, Berlin.

During her fellowship Julia Voss will rewrite her dissertation into a book manuscript and start working on a project on the Darwin Museum in Moscow.
