Born 1977 in Hamburg/Germany.

Knut Ebeling is professor for media theory and aesthetics at the Weißensee Kunsthochschule Berlin as well as lecturer at the Stanford University Berlin.

He is the author of numerous texts on philosophy and contemporary art such as Die Aktualität des Archäologischen – in Wissenschaft, Medien und Künsten (2004), in cooperation with Stefan Altekamp; Das Archiv brennt (2007), in cooperation with Georges Didi-Huberman; Stadien. Eine künstlerisch-wissenschaftliche Raumforschung (2008), in cooperation with Kai Schiemenz; and Archivologie. Theorien des Archivs in Philosophie, Medien und Künsten (2009), in cooperatoin with Stephan Günzel.
 
Currently, he is working on his main work Wilde Archäologien 1. Theorien der materiellen Kultur von Kant bis Kittler (2012); Wilde Archäologien 2. Begriffe der Materialität der Zeit von Archiv bis Zerstörung (2013) which will be published in two volumes.
 
Furthermore, he is working on a project dealing with slow motion and he is publishing the anthology Spiel und Ernst.
