Martina Vacheva is an artist based in Plovdiv/Bulgaria. She graduated from the National Academy of Arts in Sofia/Bulgaria, majoring in illustration and book and printed graphics. Vacheva has participated in a host of international shows, including BAYWATCH, KVOST, Berlin/Germany (2018); Dias de Romance, Centro Cultural Recoleta, Buenos Aires/Argentina (2018); Listen to Us – Artistic Intelligence (exhibition organized by Deutsche Telekom – Art Collection Telekom, Plovdiv (2019); EVN Collection: Franz Kapfer/Lazar Lyutakov/Martina Vacheva, SKLAD, Plovdiv (2019); Crack up – Crack down, Ujazdowski Castle, Warsaw/Poland (2020); Keeping the Balance, works from Art Collection Telekom, Museum Ludwig, Budapest/Hungary (2020) and See Me Moving Placeless, from the Art Collection Telekom, Museum of Contemporary Art Skopje/Macedonia (2021). Sereality (2016), Mud (2018), Circle Pit (2021) at Sariev Contemporary, Plovdiv; КОРЕНИ / Roots / Wurzeln, Museum Folkwang, Essen/Germany (2019) and  The Sex and the City, The Institute of Contemporary Art, Sofia (2020) are her solo shows to date. Vacheva participated in the 33rd Ljubljana Biennial of Graphic Arts Crack Up – Crack Down (2019), where she won one of the prizes. She is the 2017 BAZA / Young Visual Artists Awards winner. Her works feature in the following collections: the Art Collection Telekom, the Metropolitan museum library collection, New York/USA, the Gaudenz B. Ruf collection, Zurich/Switzerland and Vienna/Austria, the Museum Folkwang collection, Essen, and, finally, the EVN Collection.
