Born in Chiari/Italy in 1984.

An independent spatial practitioner and researcher, Paolo Patelli is an associate lector at the Design Academy Eindhoven/The Netherlands. He received his PhD in urban and architectural design from the Politecnico di Milano/Italy (2015).

He is the design lead and mentor for Bodies of Knowledge at BIO26, the 26th Biennial of Design in Ljubljana/Slovenia (2019/2020), The Forest Underneath (2-channel video installation, 20 min), and Rurban. Landscapes one the move, at the Jan van Eyck Academie, Maastricht/Netherlands (2019).

Earlier work includes Shore Leaves (2-channel video installation, 20 min) with Giulio Squillacciotti and Giuditta Vendrame at the Dutch Pavilion at the 16th International Architecture Exhibition La Biennale di Venezia/Italy (2018), scenography for GLOBALE: Reset Modernity!, exhibition co-curated by Bruno Latour at ZKM Karlsruhe/Germany (2016) and in the Shanghai Project (2017) and Friction Atlas with Giuditta Vendrame at BIO50, the 24th Biennial of Design in Ljubljana/Slovenia (2015), Adhocracy Athens/Greece (2016), Performing Mobilities, Melbourne/Australia (2017), Todaysart, Den Haag/Belgium (2017) and The Performance Arcade Wellington/New Zealand (2019).

He was a research fellow at the Het Nieuwe Instituut, Rotterdam/Netherlands (2019/2020), the Jan van Eyck Academie, Maastricht/Netherlands (2017/2018) and IdeasCity, New Museum New York/USA (2016).
