Born in 1975 in Lausanne/Switzerland.

He studied law at the University of Zurich and wrote his doctorate thesis on photojournalism and copyright/competition law with Prof Dr. Manfred Rehbinder. In his work he analyzed the unwritten rules and market structures in the photography sector, practical problems in interpretation of copyright terminology as well as questions of copyright protection and intellectual property rights. In this context he also held lectures at several forums.

Since 1991 Perreaux worked at KEYSTONE, a photography agency where he has been a juristic consultant for intellectual property law since 2001. He also works at the concert agency Allblues GmbH.

Since 2006 Philippe Perreaux works as a lawyer at Bühler & Lienert, Steuer- und Rechtsberatung, his specialty being intellectual media and IT-law.
